Gjergji & Esther Renja (Albania)

March 2016 Update

Thanksgiving and praise

  • That the Church of Hope, Morave is now registered with the Albanian State and that it is now a member of VUShi, the equivalent of the Evangelical Alliance in Albania.
  • For a closer working relationship with two churches in Berat and their pastors and families.
  • That Naomi and Tilly are now attending a senior school in Berat and doing well.
  • For the 16 children/young people who went as a choir from Morave dressed in matching red hoodies to sing at a church in Berat at Christmas.

Prayer requests Spring 2016

  • For the four lads who were baptised last year.
  • For the children/young people (Gjergji and Esther are now in contact with 129 and thanks to a number of churches were able to provide each of them with a shoebox of presents at Christmas) for their continued attendance and for their acceptance of the gospel.  Esther describes one lad as “quick witted and likes to disturb the meeting.  He hangs around and for sure he knows the gospel, please pray that he will accept it.”
  • That those who attend the church would have a deeper desire to walk closely with the Lord and would be knitted together as a family in Christ.
  • For Gjergji and Esther as they do advanced preparation and planning for meetings/activities.
  • For the guidance of the Holy Spirit as Gjergji and Esther plan for the future and for working more closely with other pastors in the area.

Esther taught at Warminster's New Close School before she went as a single lady to Albania as a missionary & later married Gjergji.  She is the daughter of two of our Church Members and sister of another so there are close links within the Church. They are Church Planting in Morave, amongst the gypsies and Albanian villagers and have recently been working with the local children by running a summer camp. (see photos)
